Okomfo Anokye and the Golden Stool

My name is Seth Mills and welcome to the story behind the story. This work has become a personal mission of mine borne out of years of reading and listening to marvellous stories from ancient times that seem so mysterious and sometimes unimaginable. My lineage is from Ghana, West Africa and my home is in London, United Kingdom. Somewhere in between these two places I have collected a wonderful library of great books from amazing writers full of magic, action and wisdom.

Also being an avid fan of comic books I have enjoyed the renaissance of the Marvel and DC movie franchises. However many of these stories originated with the deities of Egypt and South America, the legends of the Native Americans and of Asia. Whether the Neteru, Orisha, Anunanqi, Aztecs, Shinto, Voodou, Dogon, Maui and many others these were walking, talking people.

My mission through these books is to bring these colourful and electrifying stories to life and show that these special people walked the earth, had families, and broke bread with their fellow man.

The first release of the Return of the Ancient Ones franchise will be Okomfo Anokye and the Golden Stool - the story of a Ghanaian mystic who teams with a young Ghanaian royal to free his people from the rule of the Denkyria overlords and establish a new kingdom for the Akan tribes. Along the way the mysteries of the ancestors are revealed and Anokye and his friend Prince Osei learn great life lessons that can be used for all today. The date for the full release of the 99 page graphic novel is Summer 2016. Keep checking this blog for news, previews and the release of advance pages from the graphic novel and merchandise.

This is the return - as we say in Ghana; Sankofa = "return and get it" a symbol of the importance of learning from the past.
